Competition info
I can’t remember how the idea for this competition began, but it has certainly snowballed now into an international blogging competition. Students and classes from 7 countries were registered at the time the competition began. But you or your class may join at any time over the next ten weeks beginning 22nd September 2008. Register here.
Students are not competing against each other, rather they are competing within their own school or class to see who is the most improved blogger over the ten week period. Hopefully, their teacher or school is providing a small prize to the winner. As the main organizer of the competition, Miss W. will then write a post about the individual winners so others can visit those blogs.
There will be a new activity post every Sunday (Australian time) with one or more activities for students to have-a-go at. These activities will involve some aspect of blogging including avatars, images, writing posts and writing comments.
The most important aspect of this competition, though, is the connection formed between reader and writer. We would like to see students making friends in other countries, finding out they are not so different wherever they live in the world, asking questions and making conversations by replying to those questions.

As we have students from Portugal participating, you might need to translate their posts so you can then answer them in English. I recommend using this site for translating.
Last, but certainly not least, Miss W. would like to thank Sue Waters from Theedublogger fame for all her help in setting up pages and publicizing this competition. If your teacher or Miss W. can’t help you with an activity, then check out the pages at The Edublogger.
Many , many thanks, Sue!!
