Ancient history – Egypt

I have just been to a website which allows you to put in your name, and they will then write it in hieroglyphs.  I did a print screen and cropped the picture to put it in here for you to see.

I have always loved anything Egyptian and have actually visited there and climbed through one of the pyramids.  I also went on a week’s cruise down the Nile River, visiting many of the tourist areas on the way like the Valley of the Kings, Queen Hatshepsut’s tomb and the temples at Thebes.

If you also have an interest in ancient civilizations then the Penn Museum currently has an online exhibition worth visiting.

They also have lots of activities for kids to do.  Thanks to Mr Byrne for the link to this great museum.

Thank you for the great link! Our art teacher just taught a lesson on hieroglyphs. I added this link to my website, so now my students can learn and create online.

You have a great blog! I’ll be back with my third grade students after our spring break is over!

    Thank you,
    Linda

Ms. Wyatt, this is Matthew Quimby from the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama. We commented back and forth earlier this semester. I need your help with a school project I’m working on. I need to find a teacher that’s out of the region and discuss the future of technology with them. Would you be willing to help me? Also are you on Twitter. I think it would be a great tool for you as a teacher if you aren’t already signed up. If you are willing to help me in the conversation e-mail me at likemagic22@gmail.com Thanks

Hi, my names rachel. I’m really happy you like Egypt. I felt like I was the only one who like Egypt and studyed about it. I’ve always wanted to go there. I used to write my class friends names in hieroglyphs for them. What was your favorite thing about your trip.

Hi Miss W, its Rachel. I bet a relaxing trip up the Nile River Was fun. Some day I want to go to Egypt and see the Nile River, Valley of the Kings, Queen Hatshepsut’s tomb, the temples at Thebes and the pyramids. I would also like to go to Japan. I like the culture. I’ve all ways wanted to climb Mt.Fugi, but I hate hights. How about you? do you like Japan? Also there was no real reason for why I put everything on my page, I just think it looks neeter.

    Hi Miss W.
That is awesome that you have been to Egypt. I really would love to go there, in fact I want to be an archeaologist in Egypt when I’m older. I have always loved everything Egyptian too. What did you like most about Egypt? And who was your favorite pharoah/queen?
