Adding a virtual pet
WOW! When I left school yesterday, only one student had a virtual pet in their sidebar. But when I checked all the blogs today, nearly everyone has got one. Well done on working out how to do this. Teaching each other is great in my class.
But I noticed that the width of the pet widget often overlaps into your post area. Check out Lochie’s post and read my comment about how to change the width and what to change it to. Remember to refresh your blog to see what difference the changes have made. If it is still too wide, go back in again and make the width smaller.
PS: You might have to change the width in two different places.

Is there anywhere I can go on edublogs to see how to put in a widget from another site. I have searched but can’t find anything!

G’day Miss T,
That text box in the widgets comes in very handy for adding things to your sidebar. As long as you have the code, it should work. Sometimes though, Edublogs strips bits out of code and so it doesn’t work. When this happens, contact @suewaters on twitter or check out the problem at “The Edublogger” or in the Edublogs Forum which you can see in top right corner of your dashboard of your blog.

When I first found out that my clustrmap was going to be reset, I was devastated. However, I kept a screen dump of it and soon it broke out in measles again!!
I like the idea of a virtual pet but our school’s ISP blocks it, so I will check it out when I get home and have a look at that option.

I am so lucky. So far anything the students have tried to add to their blogs has worked well with nothing blocked. I noticed today a couple had added some comics – have written to ask they only add one instead of a dozen as they have at the moment ….

They look great as does your clustrmap and avatar. You now need to upload your avatar a second time into USER avatar. You already have it as BLOG avatar, but if you want it to appear when you make a comment, you need to make it a user avatar.
