Teachers learning to blog
After school on 12 May, I will be running a session in our computer lab for any teachers at our school who are interested in learning to blog. I will be showing them my personal blog, our class blog and some of the student blogs. Hopefully we will have time for them to start their own blog as well.
- What internet safety do they need to know before blogging?
- What should I tell them about blogging?
- Are you finding it boring, interesting or what?
- What are you learning by blogging?
- Is blogging better than normal writing in class and why?
Are there any students who would like to stay until 4pm to help run the session and help teachers start their own blog?
Teachers would love an instruction sheet that gives them step by step how to organize their blog.
- What should be included?
- Is there a student or group of students who could write this sheet to use with teachers?

Hello Miss w,
My student received your comment and was pleased and surprised simulatiously. We’ve only just began blogging. Our pupils are at the familiarising stage so responses to their blogs from interstate and/or OS are really nice surprises for them. They get to see how it works (rather than just publishing an isolated page). Thank you for this.
Our main page has more of our student blogs listed in the blog role. Most have only just published and began adding “stuff”. Our class blog is a little richer though.
It would be great if some of your grade 5s could “drop by” and perhaps commence a diaglogue or collaboration. This term is about Human Body and Space (starting this topic this week). Our class blog has pages with work samples.
As I/we get better at this, our “stuff” should grow and hopefully be of some value. Hoping all is well in Tasmainia… I was there last year and absolutely loved it.
