The Great Arctic Hunter
Now that we have begun our work on the traditional and modern Inuit people, I thought I would include some good websites you could visit to find out informaiton on this group of people in Northern Canada, Greenland and Alaska. I showed you “The Great Arctic Hunter” in class, but here are a few more.
“Journey to Kitigaaryuk” follow Jack and his Inuit pen pal Roy to an old Inuit village. You need a flash player for these two journeys to work.
Roy meets his cousin Kubla on a journey into the past of the Copper Inuit at Angulalik.
Online exhibits relating to Yellowknife in the Northwest Territories of Canada. Not all exhibits relate to Inuit people.
A set of photos from Flickr – these are public but pages on other web sites including blogs that display images hosted on flickr.com must provide a link from each photo back to its photo page on Flickr. This also means if using a photo in a slideshow presentation you must have that link or put the information in a bibliography. Check with me if you don’t know how to source a photo.
While reading, playing or looking at these websites, make sure you take notes about the seasons and what happens in each of them as well as the roles of men, women and children. You will need your notes for the activities later in the term.

Hello Mrs W,
Sice you asked about what glass giant was I will tell you. Glass giant is a website that you pick a picture that they are showing and add a picture and a text and the picture will come up with the text and picture you put on and you can add it on to your blog or myspace or whatever you have/want! There are also some games but I haven’t checked them out yet but they are probably very fun! I LOVE your website! Hopefully, you will look at more of my new pages and posts and maybe your students can comment me! I will look at yours, too! If you don’t remember my blog website name let me remind you! it is http://www.lovinganimals.edublogs.org!
Thank you,
Rachel

Hi miss W,
I played the great artic hunter game.
It was fun, i didn’t Know that you hunt polar bears with the help of dogs. The tools were not as i expected to use for hunting in some of the hunts.some of the questions were where i really had to think about which one to choose. This game was really good. You can expect me to play this game again.
P.S. I like the little igloo that I as in me the hunter got to celebrate in at the end.

Hi Mrs W,
I played the Great Arctic Hunter game.
It was good but it was a little bit boring for me!
I did get some information for my Inuit research though which was really good, the research I found was on some of the weapons and animals that the the inuits use and eat.

Hey Miss. W
I enjoyed the game. I think it pretty amazing what tools they use and what animals they hunt.
It’s amazing how caring they are to the animals even that they are wild.
