Parents using technology
I wonder what types of technology your parents, older brothers and sisters, neighbours or other relatives use in their work place? Do they blog, use wikis, mobile phones, podcasts etc? You might like to create a survey or questionaire and give your responses in a graph. Ask them questions on this topic, then either the student or the parent can write a comment back in this blog.

My brother has his own website.
Hi pina, can you just check if your email address is correct, cause I tried to send you an email and it came back to me? Check with me at school tomorrow. It would be great if you could design your own website some stage this year.

Hi Sue,
I’ve just been shown through your new blog, however i still have a lot to learn when it comes to computers.
I have learnt all that I do konw from my kids and working at school.
For me, I need a purpose when using the computer.
Computers were just coming in when I was a High School and back then they were only used by our top students, which unfortunately was not me!!!
Is there a way to spell check on blogging?
Cheers Anne
Hi Anne,
Glad to see you having a try at blogging and sorry, no way to spellcheck. That is why many teachers ask students to write their posts using Word first and then cut and paste into the blog. Hope to hear from you again soon.

Hi Sue,
I have just discovered your blog through my son Sam in your class. I use the internet often to shop, keep in touch with friends, email and general surfing! My use of technology is a little limited as I am a bit old school! I use a mobile, ipod, and am a dab hand with the microwave and the vacuum!! Well I’ve done my bit, now it’s Sam’s turn. Goodluck with the Smartboard…I’ve heard heaps about it.
Alison.
Hi Alison,
Glad to see some parents having a go at blogging as well. I don’t have a mobile phone or an ipod so I am not really a technophobe, just enjoy getting the kids involved in a variety of learning strategies.

G’day. We had a lot of fun working on your smartboard today at school. Jess and Terry loved playing ghostblasters.
